Victoria's Secret boot ad

While I was checking my Yahoo! e-mail account, this Victoria's Secret ad for boots appeared.

Nice...very nice!

Of course, I had to follow it to see what Victoria's Secret had to offer in the way of boots this season.

Great splash page for the VS shoe section.

And some of my favorite modeled boot styles...

ARCHIVE: Celebrities in leather

Finally finished cleaning out photos from the old laptop, here's a few I've collected over the years of celebrities in leather.

Mila Kunis rocks two great outfits with sexy tall boots!

Christina Aguilera models jewelry with some sexy long black leather gloves.

ARCHIVE: The Velvet Assassin

A few years ago, a videogame called "The Velvet Assassin" was released. What's sexier than a spy in all black leather? This would also make a great Halloween costume!

The first photo is a prototype of what the character was supposed to look like for the videogame.

These photos are from a ComiCon type event where a model dressed up where attendees got to pose with a model dressed up as The Velvet Assassin. Talk about a great modeling gig!

ARCHIVE: Saks photos

More from the old laptop, this time a collection of leather photos from Saks Fifth Avenue website. These looks all feature what appear to be great Chloe stacked heel boots!

ARCHIVE: Nordstrom photos

Still cleaning off the old laptop, here's a collection of my favorite photos featuring leather from the Nordstrom website.

BOOTS

TRENCH COATS

LEATHER SKIRTS

ARCHIVE: Miscellaneous catalog photos

I've upgraded to a new laptop, which means I need to clean some photos off of the old one. This blog seems like a good place to share some of my favorite leather photos.

Next, a few favorites from online catalogs:

I've always been a big fan of jumpers, but pair them with sexy tall boots, and you've got a very memorable look!

Bluefly.com recently had a great splash page featuring some very sexy, strappy boots. And if you think your computer doesn't track cookies, check out the advertisement which appeared shortly after I searched for boots on the Bluefly website.

This JCPenney look from 2010 featured a sexy cowl neck sweater dress, wide black belt, and black boots - a great combination for one of my favorite classic looks!

Spiegel featured long black leather gloves in their 2010 catalog and this photo showed them looking very classy paired with a nice dress and a trendy sweater scarf.

ARCHIVE: eBay photos

I've upgraded to a new laptop, which means I need to clean some photos off of the old one. This blog seems like a good place to share some of my favorite leather photos.

First, a couple of favorites from eBay...

These vintage Clicks black leather over-the-knee boots are so sexy with their great leather sheen, spiky heels, and ability to be worn cuffed or uncuffed. Very nicely modeled, too!

This Vakko black leather trench coat looks so buttery soft and rich. Although maybe a little long to really show off boots, it features classic trench styling with long notch collars and a sexy tie belt.

SHOPPING: August recap

Even though the weather was still hot, fall fashions started appearing in some of our local stores.

TRENDS I'VE NOTICED: equestrian boots, utility boots, knit dressing, cowl necks, retro sweater dresses, pencil skirts, big purses, belted everything.

TREND I DON'T LIKE: Tall rubber rain boots.  Practical?  Yes.  Fashionable?  No.  I even saw an over-the-knee pair of rubber rain boots at TJ Maxx!  There always seem to be some ugly boots in fashion, and this year, it's these.  Bring back the Uggs!

SURPRISING TREND: In its annual fall fashion section last week, our local newspaper mentioned that leather pants are in.  Really?  They were also featured recently on eBay's home page.  From what I've noticed, it's been a buyers' market for leather pants on eBay, so I'll be anxious to see if that trend changes.

PLEASANT SURPRISE: One of our local TJ Maxx stores has a very nice selection of designer leather jackets.  Classic cafe racer styles in buttery soft black and brown leathers by designers such as Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, and Tahari.  Priced at $129-$149.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: While it's nice to see JC Penney carrying over-the-knee boots again, the quality was really disappointing, especially for $120.  The faux leather version seemed more like cheap stretch vinyl while the faux suede pair seemed more like thin velour.  At least last year's were higher quality for not being the real thing!

IF IT'S NOT REAL LEATHER, YOU CAN'T CHARGE "REAL LEATHER" PRICES: I noticed what I thought was a pair of leather shorts at our local Macy's store.  Upon closer inspection, it was a fabric with a leather sheen to it.  However, the shorts were pricey at $99, not much less than what a new pair of real leather shorts would cost!

NEW SHOPPING DESTINATIONS: Our newest Saks "Off Fifth" Outlet opened last month. Our first Nordstrom Rack opens this week!
