Bloomingdales features "Modern Equestrian"

Bloomingdale's currently features a style spotlight on Ralph Lauren: Modern Equestrian.  I especially like the softer looks - belted tunic sweaters and knit dresses.  It should come as no surprise that my favorite part of this look is leggings and jodhpur-style pants tucked into tall, sexy boots.  Believe it or not, the classic dress leather boots pictured are affordable for Ralph Lauren boots at $249.

Truth in advertising?!

While I agree that this peacoat is the "ideal anchor piece for chic leather pants," wouldn't it be nice if they actually pictured the product with chic leather pants?!

Great Gucci ad featuring some very nice tall black leather boots!



There's lots of leather to like on this page! It also shows how much of a trend black leather will be this fall fashion season.




And if black leather is too tough a look, both jackets and pants come in a range of beautiful colors.



These leather pants appear to have been styled after your favorite sweatpants...and just as comfortable!



The detail work on this Ralph Lauren leather jacket is stunning. And to me, "price on request" means it's going to be unaffordable for most people.



Leather tops, like this one from Banana Republic, appear to be a prominent trend this season, along with leather dresses.



The black leather trench coat and tall black leather boots are one of my absolute favorite fall / winter looks. The only thing missing is matching gloves!



The wide black leather belt and shiny gauntlet gloves make this outfit a little too "superhero" for me, but I do like the style of the gauntlet gloves.



Like the Gucci ad at the beginning of this post, this leather purse is almost upstaged by sexy long black leather gloves, leather pants, and tall boots!

A current Saks Fifth Avenue catalog features a couple of great "leather looks."




I really like the tall black suede boots paired with this flowing blue and black dress.




The long black gloves really add a touch of glamour to this unusual print dress.

My Favorite Pages - Vogue - September 2012

For being a 916-page issue, I found surprisingly little to like in the Fall Fashion issue of Vogue. Still, there were a few decent "leather looks" worth sharing...




It's amazing how much waxed (or lacquered) jeans in this case looks like leather. Although the ad states that they're "the new alternative to leather pants," I still think nothing feels and smells like real leather. However, these look very nice paired with the spiky suede boots.




The long black leather gloves are a nice contrast to the print dresses in this Marciano ad. They also look great paired with the big purse.




Again, the long black leather gloves really set off the black dress in this Nina Ricci ad. They really ad to the glamour of this overall outfit.




Very few women could pull off the look of this short black leather dress by Giuseppi Zanotti, but I dare say it looks stunning paired with the gold jewelry, gold accented belt, and gladiator sandals.
