Happy 45th Birthday to Tina Fey! Although she doesn't wear leather very often, she looks great when she does, whether it's boots, leggings, pants, or even a daring leather top.
Another place to appreciate fine leather fashion.

FASHIONANDCOOKIES.COM - another great fashion blog with a style that I really admire!
I stumbled across this fashion blog recently, fashionandcookies.com, and really liked some of the looks this woman put together. Classy yet she mixes pieces so creatively! I thought I'd share a few of my favorites here.
My favorite look comes first. While I really like the orange cardigan and the slouchy black beanie from Asos, it's the over-the-knee boots that really make this outfit. She stated that the boots were from B and H and from what I can find, they're from this Italian retailer called B and H Shoes. Simply stunning!
Again with the same beautiful B and H boots, but this time paired with a whimsical print skirt. I also thought that the top part of her outfit really lent itself to some long leather gloves.
A very tailored skirt suit look accented with some nice jewelry to accentuate the turtleneck and accessorized very nicely with a large black leather bag and black leather knee-high boots.
A cozy-looking whimsical sweater pairs nicely with skinny jeans and these very rich-looking suede boots. The beret, gloves, and big red bag accessorize this look beautifully!
Another whimsical sweater looks great paired with black leather-look leggings, ankle boots, and a nice envelope clutch purse.
I've always thought it's hard to go wrong with a classic style jumper dress and knee-high boots!
A great take on the classic "black leather jacket and jeans" look. The stocking cap, scarf, and large bag are great accent pieces, too.

Nordstrom Pre-Fall Sale is just around the corner!
One of the first signs of Fall, at least fashion-wise, is Nordstrom's anniversary (pre-fall) sale. Since I'm not a Nordstrom card holder, I can't check out the preview sale this week, but I'm looking forward to it next week.
However, Nordstrom is already teasing me with ads in my browser for their Miss Wu collection. While the collection features several nice leather pieces, like leggings, skirts and dresses, I was intrigued by the models wearing long leather gloves nicely scrunched to the elbows.
I love the text which accompanies this above photo: Take your jacket off, but leave your protective-yet-pretty accessories on when you get inside. These sleek, leather gloves deserve a lot more play time than just during your commute.

Neiman Marcus Pre-Fall Trend: The Leather Leg
It's hard to think about wearing leather at this time of year, especially since where I live, the weather forecast is for 100+ degrees the next several days. However, it's also this time of year when retailers start clearing out their spring and summer merchandise to make way for fall. I've checked several websites, and the only one who is really embracing fall fashion already is Neiman Marcus, with it's Pre-Fall Trends.
Now I've been a big fan of leather leggings since the trend emerged a few years ago. Now I must clarify, real leather leggings, not the shiny, faux leather leggings. Yes, real leather leggings can be expensive, but I've seen several pairs on eBay sell for under $200, and if you time it right, you can snatch a pair for closer to $100.
That said, I was very pleased to see that Neiman Marcus listed "The Leather Leg" as one of it's pre-fall trends. Although prices on NM's leather leggings run from $700 to $3200, it's a great place to get ideas for how to pull off the Leather Legging Look!

Try mixing textures: these outfits work for me because they do a great job
of mixing textures. In this case, the quilted satin jacket and tweed jacket are
nice contrasts to the sleek leather leggings.

Be bold: it's hard to go wrong with a belted trench and leather leggings.
However, as much as I like leather trenches, it might be too much unless
it's a suede leather. This is why the second look works as it pairs a smooth
leather dress with suede leggings.

Create different looks with the same leggings: these Vince leather leggings
are my current favorite for their nice sheen and fit. Yet the longer tunic top
and the long-sleeved knit shirt make for totally different looks. I also think
the stripes in the shirt are great for creating contrast.

Tees work, too!: for those early fall days when the weather is still warmer,
try pairing a stylish tee with leather leggings and strappy sandals.

Leather leggings can be dressy, too!: for a dressier look, pair leather leggings
with a charmeuse blouse or a pattern cardigan sweater. I could actually see
wearing these leather leggings looks to the office! Slightly more conservative,
but still with that sexy edge that wearing leather gives.

Bloomingdale's features great leather from Vince
Bloomingdales.com offers these great Fall looks from Vince.

Not a fan of the outfit overall, but those are quite possibly some of the tightest leather leggings I've ever seen.

Skinny jeans tucked into sexy boots plus leather gloves equals a great date look.

This sleeveless leather dress is definitely a memorable look.
