Target's new "Prologue" line has a lot to like, even faux leather!

I'm seriously grooving on Target's new Prologue line of women's clothing.  While I'm normally not a fan of faux leather, I have to hand it to Target for creating some trendy leather looks at affordable prices.

This faux leather dress can be worn as a dress or as a jumper.  It's only available in olive and a fashion steal at $39.99.

This long sleeve tie-waist jumpsuit in basic black is $39.99.

The perfect office look of blouse, a pencil skirt, and a faux leather jacket.  The satin-look blouse is $24.99, the jacket is $39.99 and the pencil skirt is $22.99.  I'd change this up with some black heels or boots.

Back to the faux leather, these cropped pants might be my favorite piece of the entire collection.  These $34.99 pants would also look trendy paired with black suede boots.

I've been a sucker for a good jumper for decades, and this one is no exception.  This wide leg jumper is a deal at $29.99.  Again, I'd pair it with boots.

Another all around great look, especially the faux suede pencil skirt for $27.99.  The jaquard tweed overcoat is only $49.99, Again, boots!

The faux leather baseball-style jacket is very versatile at only $39.99.

Finally, there's even a short sleeve faux leather shirt in gray for $24.99.  I'm not really a fan of this look, but apparently someone is.

Kudos to Target for a very impressive line with Prologue.  I can't wait to get to a store to see what some of these pieces, especially those faux leather crop pants, look like in person!

Target gets into some nice over-the-knee boot action for $50

Target gets into the over-the-knee boot action this season with this intriguing pair of Xhilaration boots for $49.99, on sale this week for $42.49.  Unfortunately, they're only available online as I'd really like to see these in person or at least on a model.

Kudos to the copywriter:
Long, lean and super sexy, the Xhilaration Women's Nate Over the Knee Boots are going to make you a true standout in a crowd. More than just over the knee, these thigh high womens boots really take it to that next level. The unembellished, simple black boot is extremely slimming and it leads the pack of todays hottest trends. This is the look you want to adopt and make your own before someone else beats you to it. You're going to look amazing.

They're getting good reviews and they look like a decent boot for the price and the style.  However, I found it interesting that "Tall gal shopper" actually thinks these are leather!

The style reminds me of the Jeffrey Campbell "Militant" boots ($99.99), and considering those are not real leather either, the Target boots are a much better deal.  The matte material on the Target boots also makes them look more like real leather than the Jeffrey Campbell boots.

Both pairs appear to be based on the no-longer-in-production Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" OTK boots, which I own and are my favorite low-heeled boots.  Although I'd never pay the original retail price of $650, these appear occasionally on eBay.

Leather Belt Bags - Target vs. eBay

I was intrigued when I saw this Mossimo faux leather belt bag at Target a few days ago for $16.99. Much more stylish than a fanny pack, but not as feminine as a purse. I checked the Target website, but they're not available in black and they're sold out online. However, I still thought the style was very cool and practical, so I decided to see what was available on eBay.

The only style that really caught my attention was this vintage Coach black leather belt bag.

When I checked on it, the bidding was already up to $51.00. I especially like it because of the plain styling which makes it fairly unisex. Also, being a Coach item, it should be well-made and should hold its value. I ended up winning it for just under $70 with shipping, which was a little more than I wanted to pay. However, I liked it much better than anything else I saw on eBay.
